Getting There

Follow the Teton Park Road to the Ranger Station at the Jenny Lake Trailhead. Here you'll be able to purchase roundtrip tickets for the quick boat trip across Jenny Lake.

Route Finding

  • After enjoying

the views and the fresh air along Jenny Lake, hope off the boat and follow the crowds to Inspiration Point. The trail is a bit steep but very easy to navigate. Luckily, most people visit Inspiration Point for the views and do not continue beyond it. Once, you've enjoyed the views and moved along the trail, you will enjoy a peaceful and relatively people-free hike.

  • Enjoy the view at Inspiration Point and get someone to take your picture while you're not sweaty! Then, follow the Cascade Creek Trail west through the Cascade Creek Canyon. The trail is extremely well-maintained so you won't need to do a lot of route finding. Pay attention for moose along the creek.

  • Depending on much time you have for your hike, you can go as far in as you want.

For a four hour hike, you can follow Cascade Creek Trail to the northeast until you get a good view of the Wigwams. Whenever you're ready, turn around and head back to the boat launch.

Trail Resources

The parking area for this hike offers plenty of services as it is the starting point for several hikes into the Cascade Creek area. There's no charge to park, but spots fill up quickly, especially during the summer. Try to get there as early as you can.

Close to the parking area are the ranger station, bathrooms, water fountains, a museum and a small store. If you need to stock up on water and snacks, the store is fine but a little expensive. If you're looking for souvenirs, the store is a good spot for them.

Helpful Hints

Be sure to look up the ferry times so that you don't end up waiting in the parking lot for the next ferry. In the summer time, they run fairly often (every 30 minutes or so).
