Getting There.

Drive north along George St. Turn left at Duke and keep on the flat for 3.8 kms. You'll see a bridge, #95, where you can park. The gate giving access to the track is on your left near the bridge.

Route Finding

Go thru' the small opening at the left side of the gate and follow an old vehicle-track thru' damp bush to a sign on your left,"Nicols Falls". Climb up steps and a track thru' native bush till you come to the slender beautiful falls. Slippery rocks caution you to cross the creek with caution and you can follow a well-defined track past some amazing big rocks and thru' bush till you come to a large tree-trunk across your path. Turn left here and you'll be guided down Nicols Creek track which will take you back to the start. Lots of birds usually on this downward track.

It is also possible to link onto the Flagstaff/Pineapple track from the Nicols Creek track. Keep an eye out for route markers on the southern side of the track. One link will come out above the bush-line on the Pineapple track, while the lower link will join at the Zigzag.

During Winter, this track is lots of fun with snow in the higher elevations, especially if you loop onto the Swampy Summit track.

Trail Resources

Nothing except the glow-worm grotto which is best investigated at dusk. Take a good torch.

Helpful Hints

Take a camera, wear boots, and enjoy the beauty of the bush.
